Everyone experiences uncomfortable aches and pains from time to time, but if you are struggling with debilitating symptoms on a regular basis, it may be time to try a holistic regimen like Dahn Yoga. The mindfulness system – which combines breathing exercises, poses, stretches and meditation in a powerful method of stress relief and relaxation – has been known to help many Americans improve their work life balance.

The gentle Eastern art also includes shoulder pain exercises and gentle maneuvers designed to improve your flexibility. FitSugar recently presented a technique that could help individuals who suffer from tight hip muscles. Give the pose a try.

1. In a standing position, bend down and place your palms on the floor. Slowly move your right foot forward until it is stationed between your hands. Lower your left knee to the mat, releasing your elbows to the floor.

2. Squeeze your right knee against your body and breathe deeply. From this position, lower yourself until you are kneeling. Gently shift your right leg so that your inner thigh is pressed against the floor. Hold for a count of 10.

3. Walk your hands out in front, resting your torso on your right knee. Hold for 10 seconds.

4. Repeat on the left side of your body.
